Planting looks simple — until a tree planted too deep, in unprepared soil, with no water plan dies in its first summer. How We Plant

  1. Right plant, right place — selection matched to your yard’s sun, shade, soil, and microclimate, grouped by water needs (hydrozoning).
  2. Soil preparation — planting areas are amended with compost and organic matter for drainage and fertility.
  3. Proper planting technique — holes dug wide, root balls set at the correct depth — never buried too deep — and backfilled firmly.
  4. Drip irrigation — water delivered directly to each plant’s roots, on its own zone where needed.
  5. Mulch finish — bark or mulch around every plant to hold moisture, cool the roots, and block weeds.
  6. Establishment guidance — a clear watering plan for the first season, when young plants need it most.

A: The usual causes are planting too deep, unprepared soil, and irregular watering in the first season. Our planting method and establishment plan address all three.

Q: Can you plant large trees?

A: Yes — we plant large specimen trees, including hillside and tight-access placements, with soil amended to the planting site.

Q: Do you supply the plants?

A: We can source healthy plants from local nurseries as part of the project, or plant trees and shrubs you have already purchased.
